Mission Briefing // 22XX

22XX A.D. The United Human Federation lost the Solar System.

Only lunar orbit remains. The Federation Space Force's last line of defense.

This is the story of a cadet who would become the Ace of the Federation.

That cadet is you.

01 / Cockpit

Strap into a cockpit that breathes.

Radar, armor, reload. Over a phosphor-mint console you fly in every direction across a battlefield wider than the screen. Dive into an enemy's reach and the beam saber flashes; press the stick deep and the booster dash ignites, armor glowing white-hot and deflecting fire. Hit sparks, hit-stop, screen kick, purple smoke. Every ounce of feedback comes back through your hands.

02 / Wing

Sortie with a wing that has your back.

This is no lone stand. The allies you form up fly beside you, call their kills and push forward. Rise from cadet toward admiral and you lead more of them; at the higher ranks you can send the wing out alone and command from the deck. They level up sortie after sortie, too. The squadron becomes something you built.

03 / Named Enemies

Enemies with names are waiting for you.

Enemy squads fight with doctrine: rotating attacks, pincers, revenge for a fallen wingmate, saber charges, rams. Then the named ones appear in gold. After a gold telegraph and a called move comes the signature attack: rails racing the screen's edges, a ring of fireballs, a tidal wave, a rain of giant spears. Read the tell, break the range, bring one down and the funds come in big. Miss the kill and your nemesis returns.

04 / Hangar

Grow your unit. Arm your pods.

Shotgun, laser, cannon, nuclear missile, a heavy unit that raises a shield, even warship classes. Every unit changes your shot and your rhythm. Levels earned in sorties raise armor, reaction, rate of fire and firepower by chance, so your unit grows like no other of its type. Fill the funds gauge, pick a pod card, and thicken your barrage with piercing lasers, funnels and an Aegis shield.

05 / Fronts

Push the line from Earth to the Sun.

Orbit, fortress, open ground, city, asteroid belt. Fields that turn clear, cloudy, rainy and dark, chosen card by card on the front map. On the command deck, officer Liese briefs you and greets you home. Reach 100% occupation and the front is secured, on to the next planet. Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Sun: the Federation's line advances by your hand.
